Little or no regard given

South Wales Evening Post | November 27, 2012 | www.thisissouthwales.co.uk

Energy minister John Hayes was right to take into consideration small communities in the country where windfarm developments are foisted. Little or no regard is given to the people of Glyncorrwg which will be surrounded by the proposed Pen y Cymoedd wind farm.

The planning committee allowed the go-ahead of the project when two local councillors were not allowed to vote. The vote was marginal and deserved to be looked into further. The previous minister, Chris Huhne, has been paid more than £20,000 by an energy company (which was green lit by the proper government authority). Piers Guy, of Vattenfall, has asked in your report for a clear policy knowing full well his company’s reputation as Climate Greenwash Award 2009 winners at a ceremony in Copenhagen.

The award co-ordinator, Kenneth Haar, congratulated Vattenfall on “their outrageous use of spin” to support their business model.

Why is there is a huge reluctance for this firm to not go along with a public inquiry?
