Risks from wind farms

I refer to Marjorie Cross’s letter and her denial of the health effects of wind turbine noise (7/11).
I have spoken to and corresponded with people around the world living in the shadow of wind turbines who are suffering significant adverse health effects. In Canada, the effects have been tested in court and found to harm human health.
Symptoms include sleep disturbance, headache, tinnitus, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, visual blurring, tachycardia, irritability and problems with concentration and memory.
The embarrassingly quiet NSW Health Department expresses its concerns: “There is increasing evidence internationally that environmental noise exposure may cause risk to public health.” The federal Health Department agrees.
In NSW, the government has been able to ignore the issue since wind turbine noise has been excised from the Protection of the Environment Operations Act, eliminating the possibility of residents obtaining protection.
Industrial wind is a fraud of enormous consequence. People should not allow themselves to be fleeced by such industrial treachery or by their government’s ignorance and indifference to the welfare of rural families.
