A major windfarm developer has announced it will look to build another 55 turbines in the Stewartry.

E.On are to enter into early discussions about the two new windfarms near Loch Doon, north of Carsphairn.

The firm will send details to all residents within 15 kilometres of the sites at Benbrack and Lorg. It will also host a series of information sessions in coming weeks.

Project developer Nick Taylor said: “The aim is to keep the community informed about our plans and allow residents ample opportunity to have their say.

“We spend a lot of time choosing the right site, considering things like how it will affect people nearby, as well as the landscape and wildlife. We also work closely with the local authority”

Meetings will take place at the Lagwyne Hall, Carsphairn, on November 6 and at Kelloholm’s Hillview Leisure Centre on November 14. Both will last from 4-8pm.
