The Mountain Occupiers invite you to climb the Lowell Mountains

Mountain Talk | Oct 18, 2012 | lowellmountainsnews.wordpress.com

The turbines are up and still on schedule to be operational by the end of the year.

This is a chance to see the mighty monsters and witness the environmental destruction caused by utility-scale ridgeline development. Come any time between 10 am and 4 pm to hike up the mountain the third Sunday of each month. People will be available to answer questions and guide you up the trail. Bring your friends. This is a chance to really look at what is happening to our Green Hills and Mountains and to think seriously about better ways to address energy needs in Vermont.

Schedule

Open House every third Sunday 10 am – 4 pm

October 21, November 18

Directions

In Albany, VT turn west on New Street and proceed up the long hill. The road is dirt. When Bayley-Hazen Road comes in from the left, turn right. Bear right at the next intersection. Go past the last house on the left (which is the Nelsons) and proceed carefully on the unmaintained road after their house. Cars parked is where you will meet the guides and then take the trail up.

What to Expect

The hike takes about 45 minutes. The trail can be muddy and is steep at places. Bring water. We have permission to be on this property and it is completely legal to hike up to the observation post.
