Fresh objections to Herefordshire wind farm plans

Developers hoping to build a wind farm on the Herefordshire/Welsh border have applied to vary planning conditions – prompting a second wave of objections.

Herefordshire Council granted Bolsterstone Innovative Energy permission to site four turbines on top of Reeves Hill, near Presteigne, last September.

But work cannot start until Powys County Council gives permission for a major access road on the Welsh side of the site.

While waiting for Powys to make a decision, Bolsterstone has applied to vary conditions of Herefordshire’s planning consent.

The applicant specifically wants to alter the angle of site entrances on this side of the border.

Since being submitted, the proposed changes have prompted 32 letters of objection, including strong objection from Presteigne and Norton Town Council.

A decision is due by November 14.
