National Grid wants to build a 400,000 volt electricity line across the Shropshire border to carry power generated by Mid Wales wind farms.
The actor, best known as Boycie in Only Fools and Horses, has written to support the Bwlch & Peniarth Residents Against Windfarm Developments group.
In his letter he said: “Top of my list of ‘Things to do before I die’ is to destroy the myth that wind turbines will save the world.”
