Hopes to build one of the West’s biggest wind turbines in Somerset have been dealt a blow.
Plans to build a 95-metre wind turbine at East Horrington, near Wells, have been recommended for refusal at the last meeting of St Cuthbert (Out) Parish Council planning committee, who have asked Mendip District Council refuse it because of the “noise and flicker” it would cause residents.
Councillors also noted it was within 1,000 metres of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
