Proposal 3 is bad for Michigan

Morning Sun | 10/13/12 | www.themorningsun.com

I join organizations and leadership across the state whose opinion of Proposal 3 is three letters: B-A-D.

The Michigan Association of Counties and Michigan Townships Association are opposed because it’s BAD that local governments and their residents may have no control over the siting of wind farms in their area.

Michigan Farm Bureau is opposed because it’s BAD for agriculture. The Small Business Association of Michigan is opposed to because it’s BAD for small business. The Michigan Manufacturer’s Association is opposed because it’s BAD for manufacturing.

Michigan Chambers of Commerce including the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Midland Area Chamber of Commerce, Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce, Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce are opposed because it’s BAD for business.

Economic Development Corporations are opposed because it’s BAD for industry attraction. The Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Michigan is opposed to because it’s BAD for new construction. Many labor unions across the state are opposed because it’s BAD for jobs. The Heat And Warmth (THAW) Fund is opposed because it’s BAD for those struggling to pay their utility bills. The governor and current and former attorneys general are opposed because it’s BAD policy. Every electric provider in the state of Michigan is opposed because this is BAD for Michigan.

Proposal 3 is B-A-D. Vote NO on Proposal 3.
