Councillors refused an application for a wind turbine in Morcott at a meeting last night (Monday).
Rutland County Council’s development control and licensing committee had approved an application for a second 88ft wind turbine at Springfield Lodge Farm in North Luffenham Road, Morcott, in August.
But four councillors asked for the application to be brought before the full council, where it was considered again last night.
Councillors refused the application despite a recommendation by planning officers to approve it.
Many residents living in Morcott had opposed the development and a petition with 119 signatures and 35 letters of objection were received.
