Controversial plans for a 110-ft wind turbine have been blocked.
More than 350 people wrote letters objecting to the proposals for the 50kW turbine, at Overton Farm, between Biddulph and Congleton.
They said the structure would damage the landscape and harm tourism.
Jodrell Bank Observatory also objected, saying the turbine would interfere with its radio astronomy.
The planning application committee at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council voted to refuse planning permission for the turbine yesterday.
