City calls for halt of CREZ line
Credit: dailytimes.com 28 August 2012 ~~
The city of Kerrville joined Rep. Harvey Hilderbran in calling on the Texas Public Utility Commissioner to suspend construction of a 345-kilovolt power transmission line through Kerrville.
A resolution adopted by the city council Tuesday followed a letter from Hilderbran earlier this month to the PUC. Like Hilderbran’s letter, the resolution from the city calls on halting construction of the power lines since the federal tax credits for wind energy are set to expire this year and have not been renewed.
