Turbines will hurt business

Carmarthen Journal | www.thisissouthwales.co.uk 22 August 2012

RES, the wind farm company, has had the audacity this week to offer those affected by the proposed wind farm on Mynydd Llanllwni the princely discount of £225 off their electricity bill.

Presumably they think this is enough to compensate for devaluations of £50,000 to £100,000, plus potential damage to business, health and wellbeing, plus the destruction of an ancient and beautiful landscape.

In my own case the wind farm will cause our property to devalue by 20 per cent at least, according to an AM. The income from our holiday cottage, which serves as a pension, will plummet to an uneconomical level, thus making it difficult to sell and impossible to stay. To quote the Valuation Office Agency: “Properties can sharply decrease in value when situated within sight or earshot of turbines”.
