Wind turbines rob us all, not just the neighbors

Cape Cod Times | www.capecodonline.com 21 August 2012

From all angles Falmouth’s venture into wind power appears to be a losing proposition, a failed project with huge consequences.

Federal and state subsidies, net metering and rule changes such as the Green Communities Act are the only reason such projects were ever feasible. Those operating wind turbines are robbing everyone who pays federal or state taxes or uses electricity.

Those unfortunate enough to live too near the turbines are also being robbed – of their health, quality of life, rights to use and enjoy their own property, and the value of that property.

The consistency of inaction by the Falmouth selectmen and board of health over these turbines’ extermination of my and other families’ stated rights is the most frustrating predicament I have faced in my 65 years. We are now a full two years and four months into this nightmarish quagmire of pleading with local and state officials to right the wrongs of Falmouth’s failed wind generation project. How long can this go on?
