Prince Edward-Hastings MPP Todd Smith is making his views known regarding a lawsuit over a proposed wind farm in Prince Edward County.
A group county residents has filed a $14-million dollar civil lawsuit against White Pines wind company and more than 20 landowners it has agreements with.
The group alleges that the values of property near the proposed site will decrease because of the development.
Smith, who has advocated against Prince Edward County wind farms since before being elected, says it’s unfortunate things have had to come to this.
Smith added Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty said his government would look at cancelling the projects in municipalities that are completely against them, but so far Smith says that hasn’t happened in Prince Edward County.
