Wind turbines

It’s amazing how something which appears to be beneficial, and good for the community, can be molded into a saga that will, in the end, most likely lead to nowhere. What people need to realize is that even if Clean Energy Center runs sound tests or health inspections, when it comes down to it, everything will be shown to meet state regulations. I’ve passed the turbines on numerous occasions, even standing right under them at a detour while on my way to the mall. Personally, the turbines provide no more sound than the deep lull of the night’s noises would.

As to the health complaints, that is a whole separate issue. If people are complaining of health issues, then the committee would have some problems on their hands, but as it stands the only complaints I’ve heard are of headache and some nausea, which aren’t major health issues. These issues can be the result of completely separate events.

Although I agree with running tests and inspections as precaution, it must be known that in all actuality when Aug. 1 rolls around the 15 families complaining about the turbines will be pushed aside in favor of what is best for the community. The town isn’t willing to spend extra money to relocate the turbines, and honestly I don’t know if a lot of people in Kingston would be willing either. As good of an idea these turbines were, not only to save money but also to save the environment, it appears they’ve caused plenty of unneeded drama for such a small community.
