Opponents of a proposed windfarm near Clare in SA’s north are celebrating today after the local council voted to reject the development application.
It took more than six hours for the Goyder council to vote on Tru Energy’s plans for a 41 turbine windfarm at Stony Gap, which failed to satisfy health concerns raised by a number of locals.
It’s the first time the a windfarm application has been rejected since the State Government changed the decision making process last year.
891 Mornings host Ian Henschke spoke with David Ridgeway, Shadow Minister for Development and Planning, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council.
