Anti-turbine posters vandalised for second time

Protestors from the Stop Dorcas Lane Turbines action group are outraged after another of their banners was destroyed.

After the first one was slashed last month the second, placed on a garden fence between Stoke Hammond and the Three Locks Pub, was spray painted to depict a pro-turbine message.

Force 9 Energy have submitted a planning application for a wind farm development at a site, Dorcas Lane, less than 1km to the west of Stoke Hammond in Aylesbury Vale. The application was submitted just before Christmas 2011 and is for four turbines each with a blade tip height of 125m.

Vice-chairman of the action group, Joseph Cresswell, said: “SDLT does not claim to nor attempt to control the residents of the surrounding villages, and it cannot be responsible for anyone’s actions outside of SDLT’s Executive group.

“It is suggested that those responsible for placing ‘We Like Turbines’ posters in the villages demonstrate the level of support they have locally, just as SDLT has demonstrated the opposite view.”
