An Orkney community survey has revealed more than 80% of respondents are against large-scale wind turbines in the area.
Deerness Hall Committee surveyed residents for their views on a planned development at Barns of Ayre and general attitudes towards wind turbines.
Of the 167 respondents 81% were against the planned development, 82% were opposed to any more large-scale turbines in the area and 60% were against the erection of a community turbine.
Committee treasurer Gill Smee said: “We now have a very clear picture of the majority view and hope that current and future developers, councillors and community councillors will find these results useful.”
