Nova Scotia’s Environment Minister Sterling Belliveau has approved a plan to build a new wind farm with 28 turbines straddling Pictou and Colchester counties.
The Clydesdale Ridge Wind farm will produce 50 megawatts of electricty, the same amount as the neighbouring Dalhousie Mountain wind farm also owned by Reuben Burge.
The province’s approval is conditional upon Reuben Burge providing detailed plans as to where each turbine will be located, as well as any impact on birds, bats, moose and the Canada lynx.
The wind farm must also consult with the Mi’kmaq people before any construction on the multi-million dollar project can start.
