Saddened that fishermen could be bought out

After reading the June 27 article on the Martha’s Vineyard fishermen dropping their lawsuit in exchange for money, I was saddened that the efforts of so many people to help protect Nantucket Sound could so quickly be undermined through money.
Now that Cape Wind has begun surveying the land, I believe it is more important than ever for people to be educated on the subject of how Cape Wind will affect many aspects of our lives. In a July 6 article Audra Parker of the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound suggested Cape Wind does not have the authority to begin construction, even though it announced that the surveying to take place is a precursor to construction.
This gives me hope that the lawsuits against Cape Wind will be taken care of and that the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound can be persistent in its attempts to stop Cape Wind from beginning construction.
There has been much discussion about fishing and environmental issues, but not about the potential impact on the animals in the area. I am worried that the wildlife and migratory birds inhabiting Nantucket Sound will be harmed because of the turbines.
