More windmills? Let’s take a breather

Big wind-power companies are eyeing New Hampshire hungrily. With three wind farms already approved, more could be on the way before the first three have had a chance to prove themselves. That would not be in the interest of the state.
“New Hampshire is an interesting place, with a lot of conserved land,” John Soininen, project manager of Antrim Wind Energy LLC, which is in the process of getting permits for a wind farm in Antrim, told the New Hampshire Sunday News. “There is a limited number of locations where you can find property with sufficient wind resource in proximity to power…”
Translation: New Hampshire has a lot of conservation land that wind companies want to convert into power plants with huge, mountaintop windmills feeding power along big, landscape-gutting lines to Boston.
Thanks, but no thanks. Let’s see how the already approved bird-blenders do before we green light the further carving up of New Hampshire’s scenic landscape for inefficient power projects that scar the land, blight the views and kill the wildlife in the name of “green” energy.
