Otterburn traders who lost almost a week’s takings when the A696 road was blocked for five days could find out next week if they are to be compensated.
Otterburn became a virtual no-go area when a low loader carrying a giant wind turbine bound for the Green Rigg site near Ridsdale toppled over when crossing the Ottercops.
The lorry blocked the carriageway south of Ravenscleugh Farm at Ottercops.
The traders – who claim to have lost up to 50 per cent of their business during the road closure – are seeking compensation from EDF Renewables and the Scottish hauliers involved, McFadyens
There is a meeting at the Percy Arms Hotel in Otterburn on Monday at 5pm to discuss any compensation which may be payable.
