It has been one month since the Castleton Select Board unanimously opposed ridgeline development for renewable wind power. Not a day passes I do not think about that night when the vote was taken.
The Castleton community became aware of the Grandpa’s Knob Wind Park project (as it was presented by Reunion Power) in April. From that point on, the community began asking questions, researching similar projects, and presenting concerns to the Select Board. After meticulously evaluating the evidence and listening to the community, the Castleton Select Board made their vote opposing the project on June 11, 2012.
When I think about the amount of work performed by the Select Board on such an important community and state issue, I am inspired that the Castleton Select Board led the way in publicly opposing the project.
So, thank you to my Select Board for your hard work.
