BY GEORGE CHARNEY, Wyoming County Press Examiner Correspondent | wcexaminer.com 11 July 2012

Monroe Township supervisors met Monday (July 2) and noted they had received a general permit regarding the Mehoopany Wind-Farm Project.

No maps were included in the correspondence. A diesel engine will be located somewhere in Monroe Township but no information was available as to the location.

With regards to the township’s clean-up day in June, it was announced that 52 homes took advantage of removing unwanted items from residences. It was decided to only have one day next year, tentatively on a Saturday.

There was discussion regarding the Crispell Property violations.

The supervisors voted 2-1 (with Derhammer opposing) to investigate what penalties can be approved by law to enforce the Uniform Construction Code.

The supervisors will attend a meeting on July 17, at 7 p.m., at the Wyoming County Emergency Management Agency office in Tunkhannock to hear an official from the DEP regarding oil/gas information.

A subdivision by David/Sheila Race and Bob/Darlene Longmore has been approved; however, all permits will be needed should any building on the parcel is planned.
