Utility to stop buying electricity

www.southbendtribune.com 10 July 2012

INDIANAPOLIS – One of Indiana’s largest electric utilities has decided to stop buying more power from customers who generate it from renewable sources such as solar and wind.

Indianapolis Power & Light says it already has contracts to buy significant amounts of electricity from large wind farms and that it must be careful about spending too much on renewable sources since that power now costs more than traditional electricity generation.
