Burlington pier better without turbine

www.thespec.com 28 June 2012

Green energy supporters seem to have total disregard for the high cost of wind turbines. Fifty-three years to break even? Think again. The pier is already located in a well-lit area. Many stores have small turbines that are cheap and light up the stores all night, which is a better idea. Also of concern is that piers attract people, people eat and that attracts birds. A wind turbine would kill a lot of them. The people of Burlington had it right in the first place. Stick with it. It’s the right decision.
