Wind farm decision due

A decision by Sligo County Council is due this month on an application from Kilronan Windfarm Ltd for 10-year planing permission for the construction of a wind farm consisting of 12 wind turbines in the townlands of Glen, Knockroe, Derrysallagh and Rover.

The work would include construction of a substation including a control building and associated equipment, new internal access roads and the upgrading of an existing road on the site, which is owned by Denis Flynn, of Hillstreet Quarries Ltd, Arigna.
