West Rutland opposes wind project

WEST RUTLAND, Vt. – It’s unanimous.
Four affected towns are opposing a wind project in Rutland County.
Reunion Power wants to build 20 turbines on Grandpa’s Knob.
That ridgeline spans the communities of Pittsford, Castleton, Hubbardton, and West Rutland.
Pittsford, Castleton, and Hubbardton have all voted to oppose the project, and last night West Rutland joined the list.
According to the Rutland Herald, the selectboard there voted 2 to 1 against the $100 million proposal, fearing negative impacts on the environment.
