The Pittsford Select Board voted unanimously at their regularly scheduled June 20 meeting to oppose Reunion Power and Nordex’s proposed Grandpa’s Knob Wind project.
Pittsford joins Hubbardton, which took a position unanimously opposing the project on Monday night and Castleton which voted last week to oppose the wind project by a unanimous vote. 15 of 19 Select Board members in 3 of 4 towns have no voiced their strong opinion about the merits of Reunion Power and Nordex’s proposal.
The three towns join Vermont’s Agency of Natural Resources which has repeatedly informed the applicant that the project area has high value natural resources and development would create an undue adverse impact that cannot be mitigated.
Reunion Power held a series of public presentations in the four towns during May. They were well attended and can all be viewed on this blog. Not one person spoke in public in favor of the project at any of the four meetings.
