It’s back to the drawing board in Palmyra Township as officials took the first step last Thursday, June 7, to move forward in the process of creating a new industrial wind turbine zoning ordinance amendment. An amendment to the zoning ordinance adopted by the township board last fall was nullified by a referendum vote May 8.
Palmyra Township Supervisor Jim Isley said both the township attorney and the Michigan Township Association have confirmed that the township cannot just amend the vacated amendment.”
The township will have to start from scratch.
