St Erme wind farm inquiry

Pirate FM News, www.piratefm.co.uk 12 June 2012

Cornish villagers fighting a wind farm on their doorstep warn it will destroy their home.

An inquiry is starting into plans for five massive turbines north of St Erme.

They would be up to 120 metres tall.

Coronation Power had an application for seven turbines turned down last year.

Locals have formed a protest group called 2Big2Close.

Stuart Money lives less than a mile from where they would be built: “I can walk out of our back door, into the most beautiful bit of countryside imaginable. It would be blighted by these turbines. It’s totally out of scale to the countryside in which they’ll be lodged, these massive, massive turbines.”

“It really is a question of too big, too close. An unacceptable accumulation of these turbines on the hills to the north, up towards Carland Cross. These are turbines which have come down, marching down the hill towards the village.”
