No one was injured.

The wind turbine is part of the Barton II wind farm owned by Iberdrola Renewables is on land southeast of Bolan in Worth County.

Jan Johnson of Iberdrola said the fire occurred in the nacelle, the portion of the turbine that houses all of its component parts. She could not give an estimate of damage.

Johnson said the company is conducting a full investigation to determine the cause.

“We take these things very seriously. The investigation will be thorough. We are very grateful nobody was hurt,” she said.
