Dear Governor Kitzhaber: Renewable energy policies negatively affect Eastern Oregon

oregonlive.com 22 May 2012

Dear Governor Kitzhaber,

I am the average, ordinary Oregonian. I work hard and pay my taxes. I guess because I pay taxes and you are paid a salary from my taxes, you could say that I am your boss.

Well I have some issues that need to be addressed. Your renewable energy policies are creating havoc out here in Eastern Oregon where I live. I have sent a letter to your scheduler almost two months ago and have never received any response. I understand you are busy, but it is discouraging that you are too busy to even see the average Oregonian to hear what your policies are doing to lives, homes and property values.

I figure I am a citizen of Oregon, and what happens to us in Eastern Oregon is part of your business. The policies you have enacted and pass down to the Oregon Department of Energy in wind turbine siting have consequences for people such as myself, who have been thrust into living in an industrial wind complex.

It would be nice to have a governor who is responsive to the average citizen that has been affected by the governor’s renewable policies. So Governor Kitzhaber, please take the time to listen to and meet people that are affected by your policies. It should matter to you, not only as governor of Oregon but as a responsible human being.
