Local campaigners against the construction of windturbines in Connemara are to lodge an appeal to An Bord Pleanala today [Fri May 18].
The Knockalough community group has now held a number of meetings to discuss the plans, the last of which took place last week and was attended by over 100 people.
The group is appealing against plans to build a 12 wind turbine farm at lands between Spiddal and Moycullen.

Spokesperson Yvonne Cronin says many of the local concerns with the proposed project concern its proximity to residential homes.
