Burlington turbine decision is illuminating 10 May 2012

Council spins its way out of windmill project (May 3)

Thank you to the city of Burlington for giving the rest of the general public of Ontario a definitive look at the high cost of wind power – 53 years just to break even on the cost of one wind turbine. The city cannot use this surplus hydro unless they spend thousands more to store power with batteries. The average hydro consumer cannot and should not support the Green Energy Program. It cost the Ontario taxpayers $1 billion last year to get rid of the surplus hydro power. Why make more? Burlington did the right thing here. We should all learn by it.
