Wind farm firm to address noise worries

By Kirsty Nancarrow, ABC News, www.abc.net.au 1 May 2012

A company proposing to build two new wind farms on the Atherton Tablelands says it is confident it can allay the council’s concerns about its existing project.

The Tablelands Regional Council issued a ‘show cause’ notice to RATCH Australia last month, after a noise complaint about the Windy Hill Wind Farm.

The company has until May 25 to respond.

CEO Steve Loxton says he is confident it has met its noise monitoring obligations and has also commissioned an independent study of the wind farm’s noise levels.

Mr Loxton says the report has been delayed because of weather conditions and the failure of a transformer owned by Ergon Energy prevented wind farm operations
