Go ahead for controversial South Connemara windfarm

www.galwaynews.ie 26 April 2012

Galway County Council has granted permission for the wind turbine farm at lands between Spiddal and Moycullen.

It’s expected to be around 126 metres in height and would be based in the townlands of Knockalough, Finisklin and Laughlin.

County planners gave the go ahead with 18 conditions attached.

One of these stipulates that the wind farm must be built within 10 years and that a traffic and roads management plan for the construction phase must be drawn up.

Residents say they will appeal the project.
