‘Civil disobedience’ on wind turbines

www.daventryexpress.co.uk 20 April 2012

A district councillor said inaction by the Government over the problem of wind turbines has driven him to consider civil disobedience.

At a council meeting members were told under new planning rules they can still not judge wind farms, or any other renewable energy source, on its efficiency – something Daventry District Council had been pushing for.

One councillor told the meeting he was so frustrated by the Government’s lack of response to concerns over inefficient turbines and a flawed planning inspector system that he was prepared to consider “civil disobedience” to draw attention to the matter.

For the full reaction, see the Daventry Express.
