It’s been a dark cloud hanging over the community for nine long years.
But Dalmellington Community Council this week vowed NEVER to bow to pressure from wind farm developers.
And they insist that now is the time for the whole village and surrounding area to stand firm against the current proposals for South Kyle put forward by Vattenfall.
Just three weeks ago, the Swedish-based firm held a consultation with the local people.
They felt the meeting was positive. Speaking to their opponents, it’s clear that they judged the mood of the people wrongly.
Sharon Rowan of the local community council, said: “We heard that they felt that it was a positive meeting. I couldn’t believe that. Their biggest problem is that they don’t listen.”
