Windfarm plans for Beeswing

by Stuart Gillespie, Galloway News, www.dgstandard.co.uk 5 April 2012

A new player has emerged in the Stewartry windfarm scramble.

WilloWind Energy is planning to build as many as 15 wind turbines, up to 125 metres tall, near Beeswing. The farm could generate around 45 megawatts.

WillowWind, which has bases in Edinburgh and London, revealed early details of the proposals to Beeswing Community Council last week. After the meeting secretary Mark Smith said the firm has earmarked land between Breconside and Kissock near Lotus Hill for the scheme.

There was also talk of a community benefit fund although no specific details were given, with many other details similarly sketchy due to the early stage of the plans.
