A moratorium on the construction and operation of wind turbines has been extended for six months by the Libertyville village board. Village trustees on Tuesday agreed to the another extension of the ban which was enacted nearly three years ago, shortly after a turbine was installed at Aldridge Electric headquarters on Rockland Road. That matter landed in court as residents challenged the operation but how those facilities will be regulated in the future still is being determined. The village plan commission has completed a review of the issue but the village board determined additional review and revisions are needed.
