ALLEGANY – In a surprise move, the Allegany Town Board voted to drop its plans to implement a 180-day moratorium against the proposed 29-wind turbine farm in the town.
A unanimous vote was made by the town board at its Tuesday meeting in the Allegany Senior Center was held in front of a moderate crowd of residents.
Town Supervisor John Hare told the audience the board considered rejecting the moratorium after reviewing rules published by the Department of Environmental Conservation regarding New York state’s Power Plant Siting Law, also known as Article 10.
