The public is invited to free showings of the documentary “Windfall,” about the industrial wind turbine industry, in Columbia City.
Screenings are at 2 p.m. Saturday and March 17 at Peabody Public Library, 1160 E. Indiana 205.
The feature-length film documents how residents in Meredith, N.Y. – attracted at first by the financial incentives of placing wind turbines on their properties – grow increasingly alarmed as they discover the effects of the 400-foot high windmills.
The showing is hosted by Whitley County Concerned Citizens, a group opposing a proposed wind project in Whitley County and similar proposals in northeast Indiana and Ohio.
