Blade signing set for Saturday

FAIRHAVEN – The Town of Fairhaven is holding a blade signing Saturday at the site of the new wind turbines.

The town called it a community event that will “welcome a new era of alternative energy.”

The turbines have been a cause of turmoil in town, but a Town Meeting vote on Feb. 15 stopped an effort to put a halt to them.

The “Wind Turbine Blade Signing” event will take place on Saturday, March 10, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the wind turbine site off the bike path near the DPW building on Arsene Street. Area residents are encouraged to attend.

Parking will be available in the Public Works parking lot off Arsene Street. From there, attendees will walk to the bike path and follow signs to the turbine blade site. Markers will be provided.

Children are especially encouraged to attend this memorable community event with their families. For more information, please call the Fairhaven selectmen’s office at (508) 979-4023.
