Noise assessed at Waterloo windfarm

Nan Berrett, Northern Argus, www.northernargus.com.au 7 March 2012

TRUenergy’s Mid North Community Liaison Group asked for an expert to speak to them about noise values.

The group’s first meeting was held last year and they were asked for to make suggestions for speakers.

Christophe Delaire, from Marshall Day Acoustics, was engaged by TRUenergy to provide specialist assessment of predicted noise levels at Waterloo prior to development and more recently to validate the actual noise levels as part of the EPA’s assessment of the wind farm’s compliance with noise guidelines.

His presentation to the group in February addressed the scientific principles of noise (how humans hear), an explanation and purpose of the South Australian noise guidelines and the process for pre and post construction noise monitoring for wind farms.
