Palterton wind farm plan delayed by changes

BBC News, www.bbc.co.uk 2 March 2012

Plans for a wind farm in Derbyshire have been deferred after the scheme was revised, officials have confirmed.

In 2008, Banks Developments, also known as Losk Lane Wind Farm Ltd, applied to put five 125m (410ft) turbines in fields near Palterton.

This was later reduced to three, before a meeting of Bolsover District Council’s planning committee was told the application involved two turbines.

The council said the change meant new consultations were needed.

Planning committee chairman, Councillor Dennis Kelly said, “We received the amendment to the application at a very late stage and the only sensible thing for us to do was to defer it so we can carefully consider the new plans.

“This is a major application and one that has caused a lot of interest locally, so by deferring it, it gives us the chance to consult further and take into account any new views before we make a decision.”

No new date for the application to be considered has yet been set.
