The Pyrenees Shire is seeking an answer from the Victorian Government about who is legally responsible for health issues arising from wind farms.
Mayor John Quinn says some residents of Waubra, near Ballarat, say the Waubra wind farm has made them sick.
He says it is still awaiting an answer from Planning Minister Matthew Guy on whether the council or the Government should investigate the claims.
Councillor Quinn says the shire cannot afford to carry out expensive noise monitoring of the facility.
“We’re a small, local rural council that does roads and bridges, barking dogs and that sort of thing, and we’re not really equipped to monitor these very esoteric things,” he said.
