Farm turbines plans rejected

Hull Daily Mail, www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk 1 March 2012

ETTON: Plans for two 34.3m wind turbines on a farm have been thrown out following objections to the scheme.

The Dalton Estate wanted to install the turbines on land north east of Manor Farm, Warter Lane, Etton, near Beverley.

The applicant said the turbines would produce renewable energy for Manor Farm and help reduce harmful carbon dioxide emissions.

Etton Parish Council raised strong objections, claiming the high wind turbines would dominate the rural setting.

It said the turbines would also have a detrimental effect on the character and appearance of the conservation area.

Other parish councils also backed Etton in their opposition to the green energy scheme.

East Riding Council’s eastern area planning sub-commit- tee turned down the plans on Monday.
