What Cameron Garnsworthy (TRUenergy) wrote in today’s Mid North Broadcaster

Credit:  submitted to National Wind Watch ~~

I would like you all to hear what is unfair about the comments from Cameron Garnsworthy, from TRU Energy!

I’m one of the people of Waterloo that had to leave his home because of ill Health because of the wind turbines. First I would like to say that I agree with his first sentence, “It’s unfair and unreasonable that the large majority of Mid North residents that support wind energy ,(I myself once was ), are being misinformed by a select few”, namely the Wind Farm developers.

Most of the rest of what he has told is untrue. How is it, that after writing to head office of Roaring 40s in Tasmania, and after it was sold to TRU Energy, NO one has come to talk to us, despite being advised of our serious problems? This was promised at the promotional meetings. If you check your records I was pictured with one of you beside the manager in the local paper. I asked him if there were any problems with health, noise, interference with TVs, radio, mobile phones, satellite internet? His answer was “No problems at all”. And don’t worry he said “If any happen to crop up, we will send someone around as soon as the Turbines are up and running to every home in and around the wind farm at Waterloo and ask if there is any problems at all. Guess what? We are still waiting for that to happen, and on the opportunity to raise any concerns at some of your other meetings! What a lot of bull, my brother and myself have gone to information meetings and have brought up some of our concerns and were told that this is not the time or the place for our kind of queries. You sure dealt with us promptly by telling us to get lost, why was that? Worried that someone will hear of what happened in Waterloo?

I won’t go in to all the details of my family’s and my friends’ and visitors’ health effects caused by these monsters you call green and renewable and cheap, but let’s take away our part of the money the government is subsidizing, and we will see if you can stand on your own?

I have been to Germany and Canada and Tasmania and had taken the time to look at this wonderful new green cheap energy and I was all for it, but I must admit by just walking around them for a short time (these turbines were much smaller than what we have at Waterloo) I was all for them. I should have looked into them a lot more, done more research, instead of just looking at them, I would have found out that these monsters have given some people health problems for over twenty years already, in just about every country you can find wind farms.

By saying that they meet all EPA standards, what a joke that is, where is the noise data? One of the Waterloo residents heard the EPA employee say that the turbines were not compliant. Do you think Mr. Garnsworthy, by spinning the same old story you will get away with it forever?

No, just look at my town of Waterloo or Waubra Victoria, overseas like Ontario, Falmouth, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, the list just gets bigger by the week.

On the mater of having all the tests done in Waterloo with that wonderful outcome, no one has been to my home or my neighbours or been in contact. Have you done any Measuring of the full sound spectrum inside and outside of the homes that are affected? Or researched the effect of infrasound or low frequency or even looked for any? I‘m sure NASA can help you with that, what I have seen on their report from way back in 1956 they tell you the effects from infrasound and low frequency on the humans and animals. Or are you worried if you look for it you might find it ? I think you already know about it, why test for something that you don’t want to find? It is much easier telling the community that the standard from the EPA is the best in the world, and all your bells are ringing money, but even your decibels can be wrong, look what happened at Hallet 2?

We also contacted the EPA and instead of coming out to talk to us in Waterloo, we just got the same letter with the same old rubbish in it that you are spinning, how can they have standards if there is no freely available noise testing results, and communication with us?

So much for CLP Corporate “ Best Principles and Practices and Values “

No; 1 Establish a culture of honesty and integrity – take a conscious decision to do the right thing as a company and communicate this to all our stakeholders, internal and external.

2. Conduct business in an honest and responsible manner – whatever the business and wherever it is carried on.

3. Establish and implement the mechanisms necessary to measure and enforce compliance with ethical standards, including a Code of Conduct, and apply those fairly and equally to all Directors, Management and Staff.

4. Recognize that corporate governance is not just a question of technical and regulatory compliance, but involves management of key relationships between CLP and all those stakeholders interested in the proper conduct of the Company’s affairs.

Open Communication:

5. Maintain a policy of open communication and fair disclosure, with emphasis on the integrity, timeliness and relevance of the information provided.

6. Pay due regard to the impact of business decisions (including their environmental impact) not only to our shareholders, but also to other key stakeholders. This requires open and effective communication on such matters and the promotion of a two-way dialogue with shareholders and stakeholders.

I would also like to add after having my home in Waterloo for about 6 years and spending a lot of money renovating, having spend $25,000 just on solar panels, solar hot water, spent a lot of money for water collecting and putting in garden and fruit trees, sounds like very green to me! only to watch it all go to waste because I get very sick when I am at home.

Do you think its funny that at my age I had to move to Adelaide in my mother’s shed and my brother had to move to Hamilton in a caravan with no water or electricity because he can’t stay in his home because the turbines will kill him (as advised by his doctor). Of my next-door neighbours, one has a home now in Saddleworth the other in Kapunda just so they can get a good night sleep.

Isn’t this, as you put it, “UNFAIR and UNREASONABLE” ?

So much for your company’s Best Principles and Practices and Values.

Mr. Andreas Marciniak, formerly of Waterloo
