Junk science being used to justify wind energy

Cape Cod Times, www.capecodonline.com 22 February 2012

At the recent state Department of Environmental Protection hearing on the wind turbine health impact study, wind energy proponents seemed to justify the ill health from wind turbine syndrome experienced by some Falmouth residents on the basis that we can trade their health for the health of those who might suffer from the use of coal.

While we demand peer-reviewed studies to establish the existence of wind turbine syndrome, we are more than willing to accept the non-peer-reviewed junk science put forth by the wind industry that wind energy is an alternative to coal. The assumption that wind energy will avoid the use of coal is simply that – an assumption. No peer-reviewed studies verify this claim. Recent studies from power grids with heavy wind energy penetration show that no fossil fuel is saved by the introduction of wind turbines.

We are trading the health and happiness of our neighbors for nothing in return.
